Don't Throw Away Your Bowling Ball

Give it to me

There's a cycle that I am trying to redirect just a bit, if not a lot. It's pretty simple.

It generally goes like this:

Factory => Distributor => Pro Shop => Bowler => Closet or Garage => Garbage => Landfill

So, what I would like you to do:  Don't throw your ball away.  I want you to give it to me.  There are many other uses for used bowling balls.  You could give it to a bowler.  You could ask your local bowling center or pro shop if they want it.  Maybe you can resell it.  Maybe you could give it to a younger bowler who can't afford a new one.

But if you don't have any of these options, or if the ball simply can't be used anymore, contact me.  Send it to me in the mail.  Just stick my address on the thing with loads of tape.  It won't matter.  You'll feel better that the ball will end up looking pretty again instead of rotting away in a landfill.

And speaking of landfills, I am searching for statistical data about bowling balls in landfills.  I don't imagine there are many people keeping track of this figure, but I will guess it's a high number.
