The Drawing Board

It's nearly the end of April now, and it's been a busy month. Plans have been made and changed, and made again. But it's all for a good end. I'm not focused on the finish line.

This month I was able to solve several problems erecting this web site. I had moved some parts of it from another server, and ran into a lot of trouble with ownership of files and permissions. I plowed through that stuff and took the site down, rebuilt it on my home computer, and put it back on the server again only to find out there were other conflicts I had not anticipated. It's hardly worth going into all the nonsense and wasted time, but enough to say that everything works now, and I'm very happy about that!

On the jewelry side of things, I've made some very positive changes. Nearly everyone has the following reaction (usually in this order):

  1. Bowling Balls??!!! You make jewelry out of BOWLING BALLS???!!!!

  2. (upon seeing some of it) THESE ARE GREAT!!!!

  3. But they're too expensive for me (mostly because of all the silver)

  4. Or they're not my style

  5. Or I don't like the copper color

  6. But I LOVE THIS!!!

And so, after hearing this a few times, I have decided to go back to the drawing board.

I've made changes to designs that I feel will address all these issues. I've also conceded to the fact that it'll be unlikely anything will get done in May.

However, July 10th I'll be at my old stomping ground from my youth: Royal Oak Michigan. I'm very happy to have been selected to exhibit in their art fair. And even more happy that this place will be the first place on earth where people will be able to buy my new designs.

These same designs will of course be for sale online at this web site before then. I will likely start rolling things out slowly online starting in mid June.

So stay tuned!
